Gavilan Community College, Adaptive PE Center
Gilroy, California

The Adaptive P/E Center is a concrete tilt-up building constructed on a sloping site which was partially underlain by an old buried channel cut through very hard rock.  Earth Systems Pacific conducted a geotechnical engineering investigation for the project development. Construction required extensive de-watering programs and special measures to control shallow spring water.

During construction we provided observation and testing during site development and foundation construction, as well as inspection and testing for structural concrete, shop and field structural welding, and glued laminated beam construction in accordance with DSA requirements. We are currently providing observation and testing and engineering consultation services for control of shallow subsurface water for the project.
